The initial screen lacked any information, just the registration box, when I first clicked on the link. I just completed the required registration information (more than I like to include). I was able to log back in so I will now explore the website. Personally, I would have liked to see more about the website BEFORE registering, but, I trust the referring agencies, including Dear Janis, so I'll let you know my reaction after spending time on the website. - Judy UPDATE: After registering and returning to the website, the Home Page DID come up with an overview of the website. Still exploring.....

Reply with quote | #4 | Actually, I think I did sign up for this website before. I believe it is run by a friend of Janis, David Kliff, am I right, Janis? I think Richard also has signed up at one point. I used to get eletters from David Kliff. But this time when I clicked into it from the Janis' home page it didn't work. I'm not saying it isn't legitimate, it is, it just isn't for me. Sorry Sharon __________________ Sharon from Arizona |

Reply with quote | #6 | I spent a couple of hours exploring the website. It introduced me to other Forums and new products. The medicine/pill information "videos" were not impressive. Simplistic cartoon style dialog did not provide sufficient information for me. I have not yet asked any of the experts for advice.
I think the "Diabetes Game" could have been improved if they told you the correct answer when you guess incorrectly. I don't know if I was looking at a Beta version (scoring/forum area was definately out-of-date), but the screens loaded extremely slowly, 8-10 seconds to refresh, and I was connected to a Broadband service so I don't think the delay was on my end. Those who accumulated the most points must be doing the questions over and over again (thus not having the correct answers given). That may be the motivation some need to get the "awards". I earned plenty of points answering questions and responding to the simple surveys that I could probably qualify for all the product promotions, but we're not home so I'm not ready to request any of the "awards". We'll see how full my email box becomes with all the third-party solicitations I expect. I'll probably drop out after a week or so. Reply with quote | #7 | Judy, Thanks for your great comments. I'll pass them on. They are supposed to do a national launch of the site this month. Your thoughts will be very helpful! Janis __________________ Janis Roszler, RD, CDE, LD/N |

Reply with quote | #8 | Hi Judy, You are obviously more advanced than the typical person who will be using the site. If you wish, you can still rack up the points and win discounts and prizes. David Kliff, the founder of the site assured me that email addresses of users will NOT be shared with anyone. You won't receive any ads or offers because you signed up for the site. Judy, I went on the site when it first started. I also requested some of the products that i was interested in. I recieved some very interesting products such as a temp wand that can detect hot spots and cold spots. I recieved the products from the manufacturer but I did not recieve any solicitation from them. The site does protect your e-mail address. To newbe as I was when I started using the site, it was helpful to me. __________________ Harold S. |
