Hey Richard, you have the same pump I have except I have the 722 and you have the 522.  They had a recall on the Lot#8's for mine.  Did you have the same thing or didn't that affect you?  I had to send back the amount I got in my kit which was 3 boxes and they said they would send me 3 boxes of new ones, 1 every 3 weeks.  I have 3 infusion sets left and am going to call them tomorrow.  If this affected you are you having a problem getting your boxes?

Sharon, I don't use the Quick sets, they used to pull out of my body too easily and too often. I switched to Sure-T sets about 2 years ago. I have no trouble with them. There has not been a recall on Sure-T's since I have been using them.

And I actually have no problem with mine, well, they are the new ones with a different Lot#.  But mine stick really good.  I am going to call AGAIN tomorrow to CCS.  I should also call Liberty to try to change my orders to them.

Is anyone else having a problem getting their infusion sets for the Medtronic Paradigm pump?  Ever since the recall, I have to call CCS medical every little while to make sure I don't run out.  It is VERY irritating.  Does Liberty give you the same problems?  I would think if it is a world wide shortage, Liberty and any other company that sends out these infusions sets would have a problem.  Sorry, I'm just really irritated with CCS.  I really feel like calling Liberty and talk with them about it.  CCS medical keeps telling me that once things get going it will be much smoother.  Well, I have a feeling when I change my last one I will have to call CCS AGAIN! to have them send my 2-3 individual sets to hold me over.  I shoud be receiving 3 boxes of 10ea.
Sorry,
Sharon

OK, gang, here it is Nov. 4th and I've had my pump W/insulin for 2 months, maybe 3.  Anyway, I had the written instr. in front of me yet, but haven't read them for the last few days.  Once I did turn the page but still didn't refer to it.  So I guess I am finally becoming a pro at my own pump now.  I feel happy that I finally don't have to look at the directions.

Hi everyone!

I know it has been a long, long time since I last posted. Hi Kim  I am Terry Lee. Welcome to Dear Janis.
I have been pumping since March 2006. I love it. It is much easier than MDIs (multiple daily injections) I refuse to give it up! You can count on lots of support here whether you pump or not. That is what this support forum is here for and we are all in this diabetes thing together. If none of us can answer your questions, or offer support on any subject, Janis can.
Which brings me to why I am here today. Please everyone that my cpeptide test will be low enough for me so that Medicare will pay for a new insulin pump for me. I had the labs done today and I see my Endo next Friday, one week from today. Thank you.
Sharon congradulations on your success with pumping. You are getting there and the longer you do it the more confident you will get. GOOD JOB!
I promise I will keep you posted.
 love to all
Terry Lee

Good for you Sharon! It feels good to be a pro, doesn't it?

Hi Terri Lee, if your C-peptide was low enough for your present pump then it certainly should be low enough for a new one. How is your pumping going? Good I hope.

Hi Richard
I was not on Medicare when I got my pump. My insurance paid for it. That was in 2006. Then in 2007 I became eligible for disability and got on Medicare, and even though I was already on a pump,  Medicare  said my cpeptide had to be low for them to cover my pump supplies. Well it was too high for their standards. I don't remember what it was but it was a couple of points too high for them to accept it. Well now it is time to start looking for a new pump (especially since my co. is no longer in business). So-o-o I am praying that my cpeptide is lower now and medicare will approve it. Otherwise I don't know how we are going to be able to afford a new one.
Thanks for listening. I know my God will supply all my needs. Phillipians 4:19

Way to go, Sharon!

Terry Lee,
When you find a new pump company, tell them your story.  They may be able to find a way for you to get your supplies, if Medicare won't pay.  They are awfully creative.

Thanks Janis
I certainly will do everything I can to try to get my costs down some.

I just came from my Endo and my cpeptide test is 0.9, down quite a bit from what it was in 2007 which if I remember correctly was 2.1. So it is definitely dropping. I sure hope it is enough!

love you
Terry Lee

c-peptide was low enough. I will be able to get a new pump in February or march and Medicare approved it! YIPEEEE!!!!
I am getting the paradigm 722(I think) The one with the larger reservoir (holds 300 U).
I can't wait to get it, but I have to wait until Feb, 2010. I really don't mind because I know it is already oked! YEH!

Terry Lee,

I'm so happy for you   that you were approved already.  Time will pass quickly and soon your new pump will be at your house.  Be sure and treat yourself to something nice to celebrate such good news.

Kathy
