I have finally faced reality that if the scale is really going to move the way I want it to, then I have to get up off by butt and move more. I am looking for sneakers for walking that have good support, and don't weigh a ton after walking 30 minutes. I have a wide foot so that might make it a little bit more difficult.  I don't have to go to a "Ped Man/lady" so I am asking the ones that would know. Thanks

I have the brand name "SAS" walking shoes, which also come in wide withs.  They are the most comfortable shoes I've found.  Others may offer you more suggestions.  Best wishes.

Firerose,
This is wonderful!  Please share your progress with all of us.  You will inspire folks to MOVE!
I like Merrell walking shoes.  My podiatrist introduced them to me.  Comfortable with good support.  If you find any other brands, let us know.
Best,

Janis

Well Janis I just ordered new balance sneakers from foot smart and in the narrative it was recommended for diabetics. Also when I weighed in at weight watchers lst Thursday, I was down 3.5 which brings my total to 65. 7. Soooooo if I  start walking more and watching what I eat even closer, then I might be more consistant. I have been a yoyoer for a long time, and a great maintainer but not loser. I always get great advise here. I will try to poke my head in more often.
Thanks. SUZ

Fantastic, firerose, sure hope the new sneakers help and that you can "loose" now instead of maintaining.  I sure like to eat and my scale shows it.  I keep bouncing around within 5# - UGH!!  Can't get past the 20# loss I have.  At least I haven't gained it ALL back.  And this is all with exercising 4 days a week.

Well Hi there! I am poking my head in for a moment. I tried the new balance sneakers and the stitcing on the top of the sneakers were not in the right spot with my toes. Hence, a send back! I did however go tot he sketchers store and found go walks.  I got a nice white sneaker and also a pair of grey slip ons.   So far so good. I plan on doing a 5K for our town's turkey trot on thanksgiving morning.  I haven't "trained" so I will be at th back of the pack but I will probably see alot of neighbors and nice early holiday decorations.

Hi Suz,
Sometimes it takes a while to find the right shoe.  Glad you stayed on top of it!  How was the Turkey Trot?
