Finally got a hold of my Endo this morning with numbers I am NOT pleased with this morning. 2a -134 and up since that with the tops at 9a -174! I tested when I got up at 146 then when I dropped her off at 9a at 174! NO, nothing to eat/drink until around 9:3a.  Young grasshopper agrees with you  Richard, he will call me back after 4p today, said I was busy this morning/mid-afternoon and gave her the jest of my concerns. BUT, Chase has a doctors appointment a 2p and he is a few doors down and will drop off my basal testing/numbers this morning.  I didn't want to eat breakfast, but I did.  I know things will work out.  Have a good morning all!  CLINK! - Paula  OH, I did have to lower my basal rate at 9:30a-5p to 2.25, which was 2.35.  YES, doctor just called me -within an hour- and wants me to come and see him this week, made an appointment for Wed. afternoon!!

My number shot up to 304 after lunch yesterday!!!  I called Animas....she had me do the check list with her, husband checked the tubing for air bubbles and such with the flash light...said I need to remove and put in a new site.  I did!  Numbers were starting to go down slowly and then this morning at 94! PHEW! Took Carrie, for a part time tech pharmacy job at Kmarts, and I was getting things in the pharmacy while she had her interview elsewhere, she got it, and I felt weird/shakey....55. I used the spray, 5 shots, 15 mins. later I was up at 70.  The tech, pharmacy was down for lunch, poked his head out 4 times asking if I was OK/needed help.  I was fine and thanked him, I sat in the chair in my own world testing/relaxing. I paid for things there and thanked him ever so much for his concern. She was longer than we thought, obvious reasons now, and bought a ice cream bar at 22 carbs. Came home laid down for about an hour plus. Just tested and am at 116!  YES, still seeing the Endo tomorrow! I truly recommend the spray to ALL DIABETICS!!   Have a good evening!  CLINK! - Paula

Paula, I am so sorry you had to go through all that today.  I have had days like that in the past.  I know what it is like.  Thanks for recommending the spray.  I have not heard of it before!

Hi Paula, I am so glad that you are here, and well. Well, as well as can be expected after all of that!
What kind of glucose spray do you use? How much do you need to get 15g of carbs? I would so love a product like that that actually worked. We found one right after Julia was dx'd only to discover that it only had 188mg of carbs per serving which was something like 5 or 10 sprays. When we had it all figured out it turned out the person would have had to drink the bottle to get 15g
Cheers, here's a glass of water on me
Jamie

Thanks Richard and JellyBeans!  It was a two day event.  I finally found it one day when I wasn't looking for it, gave up if you would, and of course, was only one left.  I grabbed and said out loud "FINALLY"!  Pharmacy tech said "soon as we get them in, they are gone". It is called "Glucose Rapid Spray"! I have the orange flavor. It is 0.68 fl. net oz (20ml). It is distributed by: Generex Pharmaceuticals (USA), in Greenville, NC "Spray into mouth, preferably aiming towards cheeks." That was the first time I had to use it, and I was really pleased with that rather than the tablets I carry.  Hope you can find it. YES, CLINK! to you too sweetie!  I have been drinking more water lately instead of diet pop.  Have a good day!

Hi Jamie,
The one that you found (188mg of carbs) is the one they are talking about.  It isn't meant to treat a low once it has become serious.  This spray provides a quick boost of carbs that probably helps get you back on track if you start to feel your BS level drop.  It doesn't provide 15g of carbs.

Yes, Janis is correct!  I was stating that is what I used because my number was so low, not as a replacement for carbs.  Sorry for the mislead sweetie!  CLINK! - Paula

Thanks!  I want to look into this.  One of my sons lives about an hour from Greensboro, NC.  I wonder if the drugstores in his area carry this.

Endo was running an hour behind. He said I am doing EXCELLENT! AND, yes, lower when the heat is up. My numbers/grafts look excellent and was proud of me.  I will still keep my appointment in Oct. I asked, and he said yes please! Phew!  Feeling better just know I am doing good.  THANKS TO ALL OF YOU! CLINK! - Paula
