Richard, I know you said you have a bit of neuropathy, didn't  you?  Is this just a normal progression of diabetes, or just because of not taking proper care?

I would get another doctor there are plenty around, if he can not respect you, kick him to the curb.

Sharon, congratulations on your last doctor visit.  That is good news.  I saw my diabetes educator today.  I told her about the Dear Janis message board.  She thinks that this is a good idea, and she is glad that I participate.  Linda

Kathy, pick up an inexpensive handheld recorder at Radio Shack (or somewhere else), and hold it up to catch all that he says.  Not only will you get all of his directives, he will treat you well because he is being recorded!  Do ask for his permission to record, first...just to be polite.

Don't beat yourself up Kathy. Infections/illness and such play a havoc with our numbers. Your ear infection is obviously not helping and I trust the doctor knows that too. Getting any better? I hope so honey. My numbers wreak havoc when I get stressed out and to be point blank, I won't test just for the fact that I don't like seeing when my numbers are high. I know, I know, many times Janis has said that numbers are numbers...but I still freak out. Take care. CLINK!-Paula

Hi Kathy,
Don't be so hard on yourself.  As long as you eventually get your A1C below 6.5, you are doing well.  You'll get there once you finish with your ear issues.

Well, gang, Paula called me  - dr. says she has bronchitis.  So she won't be on here for a while.  Got to get her rest.  Just thought I would fill you in.
