I am now down to seeing my internalist every 6 months. I went yesterday and even though i had to say hello to his finger via back side  he took me off glupizide. I am still on metformin 500mg once daily. My numbers are not super excellent but still in very good range. I need to get back to better input controll of my mouth but then we all have that issue eh?It is a big possitive and strenthens my resolve to be more serious about my diet.

Very good Harold.  Seems you are doing very well.  I assume this means you need to see your A1c only twice per year since your diabetes is very stable.  that is super!

Hey gang, went to my orthopedic surgeon today.  Everything is fine.  He thinks I have a bad strain, he putting me on mobic once a day for a couple weeks and I should stay off my feet as much as I can.  So there's my update.

Hey gang! Obviously or not, I haven't been on for awhile. I had surgery last week and was told they would still be able to give me an epidural even thought I had the spinal fusion back in 2003...wrong, after the FOURTH TRY, and after I screamed out, they said lay back and we will put the mask on you. I had my follow up today, was to be 2 wks., but she will be out of town next week, and said everything went accordingly/well. My back is still in a bit of pain. Went from a 15 the day after and down to a 3 pain now. I was given a script for Darvocet N 100. She said she only gave out Motrin for this surgery. Hello...told her it was my back and wonder why they gave me a 30 day supply...that...hum...they messed up? Oh well, could of been worse. Felt fine from surgery the next day, but could hardly get out of bed. Just thought I would update you all. Trust all are doing fine these days. Take care and have a good evening. CLINK!-Paula

Paula, I am so sorry to hear that!  I hope the pain will stay at a very low number.  Good luck to you!

Thank you my sweeties! Now I would say I am at a 2 pain level, and that was after the grand kids where here yesterday. I was telling Sharon last night about my numbers. Yes, we all except them to rise during any surgery and pain...but, I was running anywhere between 295-495! YIKES! Well, yesterday I tested and it was 520!  I did have two of those small cinnamon rolls, have had them on occasions, and bolused for that, but come on....520! Thought is was my meter, called and she wanted me to go over the steps/questions with her. It was fine, number went down...to 510. She said it was due to the surgery, I said the surgery went excellent, it was the back. So, after babbling on...thank you for you thoughts.  CLINK!-Paula

Hi all, saw my dr. this morning.  She is sending me to a Carb Class.  I know about carbs but we'll see if I learn anything new, possibly.  Got to go with an open mind.  She also mentioned the pump to me again and I asked her about Symlin instead.  These ladies that give the class are also pump trainers.  I am on 2 BP pills, one being losinipril.  I know they can make you cough and I told her that I have a chronic cough but now is really bad, so she took me off the losinipril and on something different for one month.  She gave me samples.  So we'll see what this all does.  Oh, BTW, my A1c went from 7.3 to 7.7.
Read you later -

Sharon ALOT of people find that splitting it suits them better - I hope it does for you too
I hope the other changes make you feel better too

Have you not thought about the pump ???
Perhaps having a word with the carb ladies (the pump trainers you mentioned) about the pumps would help ???

Don't really know if I want to pump.  Don't know how much it will cost me.

A carb class sounds like a great idea Sharon.  Taking your lantus twice daily is good too. That has helped many folks.  Good luck!

Richard, I am glad you found the cause of your dizziness, and that it is nothing serious.  I know you will feel better now. Linda
