A friend was diagnosed with type 1. Was automatically told he's going on the pump. He's freaking out and I didnt' know what to tell him because I just take "by mouth" medicine. HELP me?

I'm sure he will get a good pump trainer and have no problems. It does take a while to get used to working it, but once that is worked out he will love it. They will usually give you about 6 weeks of training. Sharon

Hi Firerose, Suggest he go to a support group. Meeting others who are starting out can be very helpful. Ask him to see if his hospital runs any groups for newly diagnosed patients. Janis
