I've been buying Suisse Mocha version of the Int'l Coffees for a couple of decades for my hubby, and the sugar-free Suisse Mocha for about 3 or 4 years. I've also gotten the French Vanilla Cafe during the past year. I like them a lot, but keep forgetting that I have them.

The info for the French Vanilla is:
Calories: 30
Total Fat: 2.5 g
Sat Fat: 2g
Trans Fat: 0 g
Sodium: 50 mg
Total Carb: 2 g
Sugars: 0 g
Protein: 0 g
Exchanges: 1/2 Fat based on "Exchange Lists For Meal Planning" by the ADA

Like the Suisse Mocha, it's also decaffeinated.

As a matter of fact, my favorite diabetic recipe over the last two years uses the sugar-free Suisse Mocha! Here's the recipe from "Diabetic Cooking" July/August 2003 issue. (I got a free year or two of the magazine when our cat was diagnosed as a diabetic and we bought the meter.)

Caffe en Forchetta (that means coffee on a fork)

2 Cups 2% Milk
1 Cup Cholesterol-free egg substitute
1/2 Cup Sugar
2 Tbsp No sugar added mocha-flavored instant coffee (Suisse Mocha)
Grated chocolate or 6 chocolate-covered coffee beans (optional)

Preheat oven to 325 degrees.

Combine all ingredients in a medium bowl except grated chocolate. Whisk until instant coffee has dissolved and mixture is foamy. Pour into six individual custard cups. Place cups in 13 x 9 inch baking pan. Fill with hot water halfway up the side of the cups.

Bake 55 to 60 minutes or until knife inserted halfway between center and edge comes out clean. Serve warm or at room temperature. Garnish with grated chocolate or chocolate-covered coffee bean, if desired.

Makes 6 servings

Dietary Exchanges:

1 Starch, 1 Lean Meat

Nutrients Per Serving:

Calories: 111
Total Fat: 2 g
Sat Fat: 1 g
Carbs: 17 g
Protein: 7 g
Sodium: 136 mg
Chol: 6 mg
Fiber: 0 g

I frequently eat it cold from the fridge, as that's how I prefer it. Usually I do not put the "bean" or grated chocolate on it, though I have grated a little dark chocolate on top once or twice. I'm thinking of trying it with cinnamon sprinkled on top next time.

Hi Mary, really sounds yummy.  And with 17 carbs, it is good for when a person goes too low also.  I just might try it.  Thanks  LUM

Janis!  My A1C went from 7.3 UP .....to 8.3.  She had my results mailed, I remember that I used to request them, and of course, can't find the last one.........good one Paula!!   Tighter reigns Sharon said, and I do agree with her.  NOPE, not going for "Fat Tuesday" thank you.  I love your jump pledges, but now I think I'll give up pop/sweets for Lent this time, and of course pledge my weekly ones.  Have a good day and a good show.  CLINK - Paula

Don't worry, you'll get it back down.  We'll help you keep your Jump Start Pledges.  They work!

Thanks Janis! AND for not giving up on me.  Pledge this week?  Back to NOT eating after 8p.  You know, that was the best one I have done and felt good about. Once I forgot and it was 8:05 and paniced, quit eating though....I think it was popcorn - no, plain kind - don't use butter on it.    CLINK - Paula

Hey, I mess up on my Jump Start Pledges too, so how can I be critical if someone else has trouble?  Our ultimate goal is to get healthier, not pile guilt on our heads!

I was going to say that I have a "Fat Tuesday" every Tuesday....Wednesday....Thursday....well, you get the drift. I've never heard of "Fat Tuesday" before. I have heard of Ash Wednesday, though we don't observe it in our church.

I'm very excited that you are finally going to get a good pedometer!! But after so many "out of stock" times, I'll be even more excited when I hear that you have it in hand!!!!

Yes, I read you loud and clear......fat day every day!  Fat Tuesday is, when it comes down to it, means a day we pig out before Lent - things we want to give up - Actually, Fat Tuesday is "Packi Day" (polish donuts), for the polish Catholics.  CLINK!  Paula

Forgot to tell you Mary........... My hand is burning!  Yes, we went to Dick's and I got the Sportline 330, which wasn't the one I was aiming for.  The one I wanted was an on-line deal only.  BUT....I got it!  Will begin tomorrow with it.  I like to start a fresh day.  It says "ideal for 10,000 steps/day programs", and no  adjustment - ready to use.  I just wanted a basic one for STEP walking.  Hopefully this one won't fail me.

I am in the loop now ladies/gents!

CLINK! Paula

Of course you've heard of Fat Tuesday.  In French, Fat Tuesday is Mardi Gras.
